- <p> As if There weren't enough controversy surrounding SPIKE
- LEE'S upcoming bio flick, Malcolm X. Now the fiery auteur is
- waging a legal battle to retain the right to use 45 seconds of
- footage from the Rodney King beating in the opening scenes of
- the film. George Holliday, the man who made the tape, is suing
- Lee, claiming his original arrangement with the filmmaker was
- invalid. "It's a done deal. We have a contract; he cashed the
- check," says Spike. Malcolm X is expected to hit theaters this
- November.
